One of the alarming stats in the study was 100% of the non-graduates who had victims 9 years or younger had major Drug and Alcohol histories. Here in Jacksonville , Florida in a recent article ( Florida Times Union Thursday 1/18/07) about drug crime in our community Gary Powers chief executive for Gateway Community services stated that substance abuse treatment beds for indigent clients has had to be cut back from 50 ten years ago to 30 now. There are no in patient treatment beds available for sex offenders in North Florida period. I have heard that there are some in South Florida. Are we really serious about protecting our children and other victims .
